Krushuna Falls is a waterfall cascade. It is one of the most beautiful and popular natural monuments in Bulgaria and is visited by numerous tourists every year. The falls is located just outside the village of Krushuna, Letnitsa Municipality. The district city Lovech is only 30 km away. The highest waterfall of the cascade is 20 meters in height and the spring of Maarata River, which gives birth to the Krushuna Falls, can be seen in a cave above the cascade. The municipality has constructed a path with fences and bridges to facilitate the visitors. Just before the beginning of the tourist path visitors can park their vehicles and buy food and drinks. The path leads up to the cave and gives the opportunity to examine the whole ecosystem. The specific blue colour of the Krushuna Falls is due to the presence of travertine - a form of limestone deposited by mineral springs, usually hot ones. The path also leads to a small rock monastery used by monks in the far XIII-XIV century. Travellers could conveniently combine the visit of the Krushuna Falls with a visit of few caves in the area – Devetashka, Gornik and Urushka Maara. In terms of accommodation, there are guest houses in Krushuna and the villages nearby. These are family guesthouses which offer separate rooms or the whole lodging. The nature around the Krushuna Falls is absolutely picturesque and this is the reason why many tourists prefer to enjoy it for more than a day.
