Dobrinishte is a small town in the municipality of Blagoevgrad with a population of just under 3000 people. It is located at the foot of Pirin mountains, only 6 km away from the ski resort Bansko and 156 km from Sofia. The town is visited in every season - during the winter for ski activities and in the warm months of the year for its hot springs. In the area, archaeologists have found a lot of evidences of settlements and occupation from the beginning of the new era. Excavated ceramic artifacts and coins dating from the reign of the Roman Emperor Nero. A swimming-pool with mineral water, named Rimsko Banchelong, is located along the current of Dobrinishtka River. Also, a swimming complex with a large outdoor pool is built east of the town. There are two smaller pools for children. Another place of interest in the area around Dobrinishte is the waterfall Sveti Nikola. The unique for Bulgaria edelweiss garden is also located in Dobrinishte. In the outskirts of the town tourists can visit the St. Panteleimon monastery which was founded in the beginning of the XX century and was declared a cultural monument. Dobrinishte is also a place of interest due to its location - the town is a starting point for many tourist paths in Pirin, with few of them leading to the beautiful Pirin lakes. Dobrinishte is declared a SPA resort due to its 17 hot springs. SPA treatments are offered in two of the hotels and in the outdoor swimming-pools complex. The water in Dobrinishte is known to be therapeutic. Due to its proximity to Bansko, Dobrinishte enjoys a growing interest from tourists coming from all over Europe, especially during the winter. Tourists usually spend the day skiing on the slopes above Bansko and choose an accommodation in Dobrinishte. The town offers mainly guesthouses and cosy family hotels. The 3-star hotels in Dobrinishte have several rooms and apartments each. The rooms are often furnished as in the old times and hosts often offer homemade food. The accommodation is usually combined with a transport to the ski slopes. Some of the hotels have their own sauna and jacuzzi.
